What is the Sunshine Walk?
The Sunshine Walk aims to bring people together to raise funds and awareness for the Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre Trust Fund. The walk is not competitive and is about enjoying a day out with family and friends, while supporting a great cause. It is also a unique opportunity to celebrate the survivors, carers and supporters of people with cancer, and to remember those who we've lost.
The walk offers the flexibility of a community gathering starting and finishing at the Albury Sports Ground in Wodonga Place, Albury, or a DIY option of walking at a location of your choice.
With many participants coming from our outlying regions, it may be more convenient to organise a group of family and friends to take part in the fun in your own community. This could be a great opportunity for your whole town to get involved!
Or if you join us for the main event, you will walk with our community along some of the most popular footpaths in Albury and Wodonga. Those completing the 20km walk will make an emotional journey past the Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre, which has become a symbol of hope for cancer patients and their families in our region.

The Course

There are three course distances available of 5km, 10km and 20km.
Those wishing to take part in the 10km and 20km walks from Albury Sports Ground who are unsure if they will make the full distance, will have the option of catching a bus at rest stops back to the finish line.
Please note this is a walk, not a race, and participants will follow normal pedestrian road rules. Most of the course is on walking tracks and footpaths, however walkers will be required to cross some roads. Walkers are urged to take care as they cross and give way to cars. Volunteers will be stationed at major intersections to help walkers cross safely. The route will also be well marked to ensure no one gets lost.
Drink stations/rest stops will be provided at every 5km on course. There will also be a barbecue, drink and restroom facilities provided at the start and finish line at the Albury Sports Ground.
Registration Fees
Everyone who registers will be issued with a free yellow Sunshine Walk shirt. These will be available for collection from Healthfocus Physiotherapy in Albury, Lavington or Wodonga, or from Vision Screenprinting in Albury.
Your registration fee also counts towards your fundraising tally.
