100 Miles for Michael

Last year, I lost my uncle, Michael, to cancer. 

He always loved seeing my photos from the mountains - my hikes, my adventures, the places I'd explore. It was something we shared, even from afar. He followed along, encouraged me, and genuinely loved being part of these moments. 

So this feels like the right way to honour him. 

At the end of this year, I'll be taking on the 100 Miles (161km) of Kosciuszko - an ultramarathon through Australia's alpine country - to raise funds for the Albury Cancer Centre in Michael's memory. 

I wanted to do something that connects to what he loved, and something that would challenge me in a way that reflects the strength and endurance that cancer demands of so many people and families. 

Running 100 miles will be tough, physically and mentally, but it's nothing compared to what so many people go through during cancer treatment. 

I'm raising funds to support the Albury Cancer Centre and the vital care they provide to patients and families to the local region. Access to quality care close to home matters more than most people realise, especially during such a difficult time.  The Trust Fund is a 100% local charity, with all money raised going towards new facilities, services and research at the Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre.

This run is for Michael. For the mountains he loved seeing through my eyes. And for every family facing cancer.
