Wes and Sue's Big Shave

By Susan Moyle

Help me make a difference!

I'm fundraising for the Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre Trust Fund and I'd love if you could help.

Our story is about Sue's parent and their cancer journeys. It started in 2008 when Sue's dad Ian Moyle attended the Yack Health open day and had his blood pressure checked. Only to be told to go and see his doctor asap. He was diagnosed with Renal Cell Cancer.

Then in Feb 2009. Mum Olive isn't feeling well and goes for a check up. Pancreatic cancer. She was told she had 6 weeks to 6 months. She made it to 2 weeks short of 7 years. Two years later we said goodbye to Ian as the cancer took its toll.

Over those years the Albury Wodonga cancer Centre was a much needed support for Sue's parents. Having local specialists saved many trips to Melbourne. They could do all their treatment here.

The year before Ian passed away. He opened up his beautiful garden. To raise money for the local Yackandandah community, where they had both been involved in many organisations, and to honor his wife Olive and to say thank you to the community. The local community groups involved all made donations to AWCC trust.

This year Wes and I had planned on opening the gardens again in honor of Dad. The community came together again. But Covid changed all that and it couldn't go ahead.  So now my husband and I will be shaving our hair off. In an effort to support an organisation that has supported Mum and Dad for many years, as well as many others we know and love.

Please help us to say thank you.

Dig deep and together we can help our local Cancer Centre in continuing to support those in our community  fighting this terrible disease.

The Trust Fund is a 100% local charity, with all money raised going towards new facilities, services and research at the Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre.

This will mean that more people in our regional community will be able to get the treatment and support they need close to their home and families.

Please consider giving a donation of any amount.
