We’re walking to remember my mum’s legacy and support others to receive treatment and support during their cancer journey
We’re walking (the Dazza and I) to fundraiser for the Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre (AWRCC) Trust Fund. The level of care and compassion at the AWRCC is simply unparalleled, and so important to the Albury Wodonga community.
My Mum was always a huge supporter of charity. I remember last year in November how stoked she was I’d helped Sunshine Walk raffle sellers navigate the check in protocols at theCentre to drop off tickets. Completing the Sunshine Walk is our way of honouring her generous spirit and empathy towards others.
The level of care provided at the AWRCC cannot be overstated, as an important satellite to communities in southern NSW and NE Victoria. It saves countless patients from travelling to the city constantly for treatment, keeping patients around their support networks and reducing emotional stress. The AWRCC performs innovative cancer research and treatment - allowing access to oncology clinical trials previously only accessible in metropolitan centres. The Centre also has a wellness centre attached - an important place to recharge, and access pastoral and complementary care in constellation with oncology treatment.
Every cent we raise will support the AWRCC to help local people impacted by cancer.
