I'm walking in memory of my mum
My mum Deb passed away in 2022 from cholangiocarcinoma. Mum was a fighter. She wanted to be here for her family and see her kids and grandkids live their best lives. Mum attended years of chemo, multiple scans, blood test after blood test, all while knowing this cancer was terminal.
The Cancer Centre allowed mum to do all this at home.
The funds raised through the Sunshine Walk go back into the centre, helping other families through their cancer
The funds will help pay for new equipment for earlier diagnosis and treatment. It will pay for staff training, so the local workforce can stay up to date with the rapidly changing world of cancer treatment. It will be invested in research, providing local people access to national drug trials, and it will support wellness services, like psychology, exercise programs and support groups.
Everyone in our community knows someone affected by cancer, so let's come together to support this vital local service. Every dollar counts!
